Fees

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) provide a recommended fee for psychological services (view the APS recommended fee here and the AAPi recommended fee here).  Our private fees are considerably lower than the APS and AAPi recommended fee. As of 1 July 2023, the following is a guide to our fees:

Initial consult (60–90mins)               $290

Follow-up consult (50–60mins)          $230

Short consult (20–40mins)               $195

We are not a bulk billing practice and payment is to be made on the day of service.

The preferred method of payment is via Pin Payments. Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email with a link to a payment page where you will have the option to pay your invoice using credit or debit card. Fees can also be paid by cash or direct deposit by prior approval, and are subject to change without notice.

Rebates

Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative: Medicare rebates may apply if you have a referral from your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.  A copy of the referral or a mental health care plan needs to be brought to your first appointment.  If eligible, your medical specialist will register you with Medicare and you can then claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions (in a calendar year) with a psychologist of your choice.

You do not need a referral from your medical specialist to make an appointment.  However you do need a referral letter and a mental health care plan from your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician should you wish to attend under the Medicare initiative and receive a rebate.

Further information about the Better Access initiative can be found in this fact sheet or on the Australian Government Department of Health's website: https://www.health.gov.au/initiatives-and-programs/better-access-initiative

Private health funds:  Depending on your level of cover many private health funds provide a rebate for psychological care.  Please contact your health fund directly to find out what level of rebate you may be eligible for.

Cancellation Policy

If for some reason you need to cancel your appointment, please provide 24 hours notice otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee being the full fee of the session you have missed. You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you provide 24 hours notice.  If you are late for your appointment and consequently have a shorter session you will be charged for a full session.  Please be aware that Medicare will not provide a rebate for any missed appointments.

Questions About Fees or Rebates

If you have any questions about the fees or if you are uncertain of your eligibility for a rebate please speak with your psychologist or complete an online enquiry form.  We are happy to help.
